The best thing we can do for our immune system is to be in nature – enjoy the mountains, forests, and the lake – as well as eat organic plant-based food. We want to ensure that you feel safe during your holiday at lake Weissensee. Since we are concerned about your health as well as that of our employees, we do our utmost to contribute to making you feel at ease. Thus, we have raised the bar for our hygiene standards even further and taken all necessary precautions to grant you a safe visit with us.

Essential up-to-date information
To visit a hotel, a restaurant, or wellness facilities in Austria, you need to either have a valid COVID-test, or proof of either vaccination or recovery from Corona. You may also take a self-test at the hotel which will clear you to visit that hotel only. Please visit the official website for further up-to-date rules and regulations for visiting Carinthia.
WHAT TESTS ARE VALID AND FOR HOW LONG?
- PCR tests are valid for a 72-hour period
- Antigen tests are valid it for a 48-hour period
- We also offer a SARS-Cov2-Antigen self-test under assistance of one of our team members to grant you access to this hotel only. Data registration is done via QR code.
Weissensee council offers all visitors to lake Weissensee access to the test centre between 9am – 12 noon. Registration for the tests needs to be done via the Österreich Testet website.
Cancellation Policy
We apply the following cancellation policy:
FREE of charge cancellation up to 31 days prior to the arrival date
For cancellations between 30 to 3 days prior to the arrival date, a cancellation fee of  30% of the reservation charge is applied
Cancellations 2 days prior to arrival are charged in full
Due to Corona, we have amended our cancellation policy:
You may change the dates of your stay free of charge.
In case of an official lockdown, no cancellation fee is applied.
We wear face masks in line with official corona regulations. We hope to convey our welcoming smile through our eyes.
In areas with increased face to face contact with our guests we have also put up plastic barriers to protect you as a visitor.
You will find dispensers with disinfectant in all essential locations.
- Small reminders to watch out for each other
Throughout the house, you will find signs reminding you of the official rules and regulations. Surrounded by nature and authenticity, one risks forgetting about corona virus, but we want to make sure we watch out for each other.
We guarantee a space of 6ft between tables.
The restaurant is aired at least once an hour, and weather permitting, we leave the doors to the garden and the terrace open to allow for ample air flow.
You are welcome to pay contactless.
The buffet has a one-way system to make keeping your distance easier. Food is portioned and/or covered for protection.
We regularly disinfect any items which are used by multiple individuals. There are also several dispensers of disinfectant in the restaurant.
Instead of our salad buffet at dinner, we have added an course to our starters which we serve at the table.
We offer our guests more than the 20sqm per person required.
You will find dispensers for disinfectant at all of our entries and exits as well as in all sanitary facilities.
We have intensified our hygiene measures and increased cleaning intervals have been put in place.
You may may book the sauna in advance. This allows us to keep social distance between individuals from different households.
We offer you and your chosen companions exclusive use of the sauna between 8pm and 11pm. Please note that this is only available with prior reservation at the hotel reception desk.
The food we eat has the power to keep us healthy. That is why we endeavour to make the most of the gifts the earth offers. These natural ingredients are perfect for our bodies. On top of that…it tastes simply delicious!
We are committed to using ingredients of the highest – meaning organic – standard. This is a promise we make to our guests and we back it up with our BIOS organic certificate
Why not have breakfast in bed for a change? For a small fee you may order breakfast to your room. Please talk to an individual of our restaurant team. Even without corona, it is a lovely way to spend the morning.
For an additional fee, may choose to have dinner in your room. Your chosen dishes from our menu will be brought straight to your room together with any chosen drinks.
If you are staying in one of our self-catering accommodations, you may wish to do the cooking. If you are keen on using organic ingredients, we offer you a food ordering service. You can request the essentials you need for vegan-vegetarian cooking from us. Our chef is happy to share his favourite recipes and he will pack up the needed ingredients for you to try your hand at one of his dishes.
Keeping distance is easy in this location. The valley opens wide, causing our hearts to open, too. Certainly, you will feel it as you come across the brow of the hill and catch sight of the lake.
Even before corona, large crowds were rare. Even during high season when we are fully booked, we at times wonder where all the guests are as it feels quiet and peaceful. This is because people spread out in the vast landscape to make the most of nature and engage in a variety of activities.
